The included Smart Control Receiver includes an integrated control panel and makes it easy to control your pump with the Aquascape Smart Control App, including flow adjustment and customized scheduling. An optional Universal Remote for Adjustable Flow Pumps (Item #45041) is available separately to allow wireless control without the use of a smartphone or tablet. The pump is also backed by a limited 3-year warranty, ensuring year after year of reliable use.

Warranty Procedure: If you cut the cord, it will void the replacement warranty.
Modifying the cord on almost any electrical item will void the warranty because there's a lot that can go wrong with voltages.
In addition to that, there's no way to test the pump to determine what is wrong with it when the cord has been cut.
Running the pump dry will void the warranty.
